Intro: Everybody’s saying there are more job losses to come. But we were talking not long ago about labour shortages in this country, in the US, all across the industrialized world. That’s because there is a whole group of people who are getting older, and there aren’t people to replace them in the workforce. It’s a big issue. In addition, productivity isn’t keeping pace with the need. To get more on that, we are joined by a fellow who just wrote a study on this, Jim McNiven, Professor Emeritus at Dalhousie University. Dr. McNiven you’ve done a report for the Atlantic Institute for Market Studies reminding us not to get too shortsighted about job losses these days.
