A career banker she rose throughout the RBC Financial Group through Human Resources, Corporate Banking and Independent Business to be Regional President of Manitoba, Nunavut and North-western Ontario, retiring as Senior Vice President and Ombudsman for the organization's employees and customers world-wide. Volunteering throughout her career, she sat on Hospital, University, College, Aboriginal, Government, Cultural Institution and Community Boards.

Currently Dennice is Chair of the Board of Community Foundation of Nova Scotia, is Vice Chair of Symphony Nova Scotia and sits on the board of Atlantic Institute For Market Studies, The Order of St. Lazarus and various other NFP executive and fundraising committees. She recently retired from the boards of Mount Saint Vincent University, L’Arche Canada Foundation and Art Gallery of Nova Scotia. As recognition of her volunteer activities over many years she was awarded The Eagle Feather by the Aboriginal Council of Winnipeg, Woman of the Year by the Winnipeg YWCA and an Honourary Citizen of Winnipeg. In June 2005 she was named a Member of the Order of Canada.
