Roland Martin is an experienced executive in both the private and government sectors. These experiences include being President and CEO of a number of organizations, including a Toronto Stock Exchange listed company, and Deputy Minister of Finance for the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador. He has taught finance, investments and business policy at a Canadian university. He has also been a stockbroker and written on public policy issues. For over 20 years, he was a director of the fourth largest electrical utility in Canada.
Roland has an MBA from the University of Western Ontario, a Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Arts (Economics) from Memorial University of Newfoundland, and the Canadian Securities Course designation. He has served as a corporate director of over 30 private and crown corporations.
Roland lives in Bedford, Nova Scotia and is an active sailor, skier, and community participant. He is currently Maritime Provinces Chair of the Memorial University Opportunity Fund. He is Chairman of Martillac Limited, an Atlantic Canada-based professional services company which offers strategic advisory services and marketing solutions.
