Fred Hyndman is Managing Director (CEO) of Hyndman and Company Ltd., a firm established in Charlottetown in 1872 by his great-grandfather. The firm is now under fourth-generation family proprietorship with 11 offices and a staff of 85. He has been a director of the Bank of Canada and a member of its executive committee. He is Director of the Northumberland Ferries Ltd., the Padinox Inc., the Insurance Broker's Association of P.E.I., and Chair of the Board of Governors of the University of Prince Edward Island.
A Fellow of the Insurance Institute of Canada, he is married and has two daughters, one of whom has joined the family business
