Bernard Imbeault has holdings in three diverse businesses that generate in excess of $300 million in annual sales and account for some 7,500 jobs.
He is perhaps best known as the founder, owner and Chief Executive Officer of Pizza Delight Corporation Ltd. Presently, Pizza Delight is expanding through acquisitions. He is Chairman of the Board of Pizza Delight Corporation Ltd. and General Financial Corporation Ltd. He presides over the boards of Mikes Restaurants, Scores Restaurants, Monumental Granite Inc. and Nelson Monuments and Granite Works Ltd. He also sits on the Board of Directors of Ganong Bros. and is Chairman of the Centre international pour le dŽveloppement de l'inforoute en franais.
Mr. Imbeault is known for defining and articulating a strong vision for each of his companies, a pragmatic logistical sense and a persistent focus that makes it all work. He is held in high esteem by the business community at large for his sense of ethics and is also well respected for the balance he has been able to strike over the years between business success, family and community.
He devotes considerable time and energy to such charitable causes as the Imbeault Family Foundation, which supports post-secondary education and the Orchestre de la francophonie canadienne, of which he is a Director. He is honorary President of the Association des boursières et boursiers France-Acadie (ABBFA) and principal contributor of its France-Acadie Bursary Program.
Mr. Imbeault has received numerous awards and recognition. In 2003, he received an honorary Doctorate Degree in Business Administration from the Université de Moncton and in 2004 he was awarded an honorary Doctorate Degree of Laws by Mount Allison University. Also in that year, he was decorated Chevalier de l’Ordre national de la Légion d’honneur by the French government and in 2005, he was awarded the New Brunswick Lieutenant-Governor’s Dialogue Award.
In 2003, Mr. Imbeault was awarded the Ernst & Young Atlantic Entrepreneur of the Year and received the Paul Harris Award from the Rotary Club of Greater Moncton for his service to the community. Atlantic Progress magazine has listed Pizza Delight Corporation Ltd. amongst the Top 101 companies in Atlantic Canada for the past nine years and in the Top 20 for the past six years. Atlantic Business named Mr. Imbeault to its Top 50 CEO list numerous times, and spotlighted Mr. Imbeault as its New Brunswick CEO of the year. In 2005, he was the Laureate recipient of the Junior Achievement New Brunswick Business Hall of Fame.
Born in April 1945, in Matane, Québec, Mr. Imbeault received a B.Sc (Economics), M.Sc (Management) and an MBA (Finance) from the Université de Moncton. He completed post-graduate studies at l’École Nationale d’Administration in Paris, France.
Bernard Imbeault is the father of six children and resides in Moncton, New Brunswick, with his wife Monique Imbeault.
